Introduction
This guide is
intended to be a resource for generating new ideas and to provide information for
these outings so that your organization can plan and execute them.
It contains basic information on a variety of outing types,
campgrounds, and planning aids, mainly for northern and Central
California. Although primarily designed for boy scout
troops, much of the information is appropriate for other youth
organizations.
Proper leadership and training is the responsibility of each
unit for certain types of outings such as boating, climbing and
water sports in conformance with the guidelines for their
organizations. Age appropriateness should be considered for
activities. Link to Age Appropriate Guide:
Guide to Safe Scouting
Information was obtained from a variety of
sources and may be subject to change. In some cases, you will be
sent to an outside website. I have tried to screen these sites to
make sure that they are valid and conform to scouting. If you
encounter a problem with a directed site, please let me know so I
can amend or delete the link.
It's important that
we remember the principles of
LEAVE NO TRACE. Please review and make it a part of your
unit's outings.
