PG&E Recreational Sites:

Large lakes such as Almanor, Spaulding and Britton, man-made for hydroelectric power, are the settings for many of our campgrounds and picnic areas. Most of the lakes offer fishing, swimming and boating. This guide lists the many activities available at each recreational area.

For group reservations, opening and closing dates, call us at (916) 386-5164. To submit comments or obtain recreation information, please use the following address

Campgrounds

Pacific Gas and Electric Company's campgrounds provide tent space, tables and benches, fire grills, refuse containers, water, restrooms and parking. Most require a camping fee and have an occupancy time limit of 14 days during the peak vacation months. Most are available on a first-come, first-served basis, however, the group facilities require reservations. Most campgrounds have parking spaces that can accommodate trailers up to 20 or 34 feet long.
