Adopt-a-Creek The program is FREE and requires only two days a year (minimum) out of your time. The water district will furnish garbage bags, gloves and gate keys (if necessary) to access your creek site, at no charge. The program also arranges for a maintenance crew to pick up the collected debris after your cleanup event.  http://www.valleywater.org/Water/Watersheds_-_streams_and_floods/Taking_care_of_streams/Adopt_A_Creek/index.shtm

Adopte-a-Site Program

We encourage community and school groups to adopt one of Save The Bay's wetland restoration projects.

Adopting organizations volunteer monthly to improve habitat and track their progress.

Volunteer activities:

·   collect native plant seeds

·   grow plants in our nursery

·   sow native plants along the shoreline

·   check water quality

·   monitor the health of wildlife populations

School groups and others that adopt-a-site build strong connections and investment in their part of the shoreline. Students and volunteers gain a deeper understanding of the restoration process, wildlife and the Bay ecosystem.

To learn more about the Adopt-A-Site program, contact Marilyn by email at mlatta@saveSFbay.org or by phone at (510)452-9261.
